Baptism Shouldn't Wait!!
The book of Acts is a historical account of the New Testament church while the apostles were still alive. If we follow the examples of the conversions in this book, we will see that baptism is necessary and shouldn't wait. Acts 16 is one of the many examples showing that baptism should not wait. It tells of the conversion of the Philippian jailer. "they seized Paul and Silas and threw them into prison But at midnight there was a great earthquake and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were loosed. And the keeper of the prison brought them [Paul and Silas] out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And immediately he and all his family were baptized and he rejoiced, having believed in God with his entire household." (Acts 16:19-34)

Acts 16:30-34 [Prison guard]...Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, [Paul and Silas] Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and thy house. And they spoke unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with his entire house.
Acts 8:35-39 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came unto water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If you believe with all your heart, thou may. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
Acts 22:16 And now why do you delay? Arise, and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the His name. (NASV)
Acts 2:38,41 Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost...Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
So, What is the plan of salvation ?

1) Hear the truth of Gods Word. Jesus teaches the importance of hearing: John 5:24-25.

2) Believe in God, and that Jesus Christ is HIS only begotten son: John 3:16-18, Acts 16:31, Romans 10:17, Hebrews 11:6

3) Repent of your sins: Luke 13:3-5, Acts 2:38, 3:19, 17:30, II Peter 3:9

4) Confess before man that "Jesus is Lord": Romans 10:9-10, I John. 4:15

5) Be Baptized for the remission (or payment) of your sins: Acts 2:38, 22:16, Mark. 16:15-16, 1 Peter 3:20-21.

Then add to your faith all of the qualities mentioned in:
1 Peter 1:5-11.
